| This custom residence in Anthem Country Club combines the unique site arrangement and compelling floor plan organization essential to contemporary design. The cul-de-sac lot condition presented challenges for desired automobile and guest entry and to maximize distant views. The garage is turned perpendicular to the front elevation and is screened by a curving stone site wall that echoes the street edge and leads guests to the gated entry. Distant mountain and golf course views to the north are captured by the extensive, two-story covered patio that surrounds a free-form, infinity-edge pool and spa.
Interior space is organized around a soaring central spine that provides circulation and light to the house. This volume features an open metal staircase and formal dining hall. The great room and kitchen are enhanced and defined by a curving dropped ceiling plane that diverges from the angular forms detailed throughout the house. Upstairs, a bridge over the foyer connects two distinct living areas, the children’s bedrooms and retreat, and the master suite.
Colors and materials were carefully selected to reflect the owner’s contemporary aesthetic and provide contrast, such as circular metal columns that emerge from angular stone pillars. Premium finishes throughout the house enhance the visual appearance of functional spaces.
