Changing People lives, one brick at a time has captivated a national audience and warmly embraced many hearts. Inspired by its homeowners, Taylor Woodrow Homes has built a reputation as one of the industry's top homebuilders, and while inspiration can come in many forms and from many different situations in life, none are more heart-warming than the plight of a little eight-year-old Valley girl.
Taylor Woodrow Homes began construction on February 6th on a brand new home for the award-winning ABC-TV hit series, "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition."
After the initial demolition of the existing home, construction crews worked around the clock until February 11th when the keys to the brand new custom home were handed over to the family. 1,000 men and women from Taylor Woodrow Homes and their Trade Contractors inspired by Kassandra's story worked around the clock for a week to make the family's dream home become reality.
"Our division in Arizona is a local homebuilding operation. The management team thinks and acts locally, they were raised locally, and they have a genuine heart for service to the community. They wanted us to take on this challenge as a tribute to the team members in Arizona that have battled through cancer over the last two years and their hearts were touched by this family's and little girls story. They are up to the challenge because it is what we do," says Mike Forsum, Western Regional President for Taylor Woodrow Homes.
"At Taylor Woodrow, we are in the business of making dreams come true. And even though we build dream homes and communities across the globe, when given the opportunity to join "Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," we knew that this was more than an opportunity to make a dream come true. This was the chance to forever change lives. Kassandra's story and our own team members affected by cancer have inspired us to take on this challenge," says Scott Holland, Vice President of Sales and Marketing for Taylor Woodrow Homes.
