Perlman Architects Inc  Selected to Design Home for the Television Series " Extreme Makeover Home Edition"

(Gilbert, AZ.)---Perlman Architects of Arizona was selected to design a home for the television series, "Extreme Makeover Home Edition." Perlman Architects' client, Taylor Woodrow Homes was given the opportunity to showcase one of its new homes from a recently developed new series by the architectural firm.
 Perlman Architects was given the task of modifying plans and elevations, not yet released for construction, to accommodate the featured family's unique situation. This included upgrades to the original plan which incorporated a media center, story room, craft room, and two additional bedrooms. The master bathroom was also upgraded and the main stair case altered to create a more dramatic effect. On the exterior surface, an enclosed courtyard with a water feature and custom detailing further enhanced the 5,300 square foot home.

 There was teamwork and support exhibited by all involved parties; the show's producers, Taylor Woodrow, subcontractors and neighbors, worked with Perlman to make the family's dreams come true. "It is a phenomenal thing that so many people can put their individual issues aside and have such a vested interest in a family they have never met," said Powers. "Decisions were made with the family in mind; money and politics never entered the picture, our firm was both honored and humbled to have been a part of such a wonderful experience," he said.
