(Las Vegas, Nev.)--- Perlman Architects, Inc., designed the Hofbrauhaus, a $3.2 million restaurant and the only franchise of its kind outside of Germany. This approximately 19,000 square foot project is located in the resort corridor of Las Vegas, NV on Paradise and Harmon avenues, across from the famed Hard Rock Hotel and Casino.

The developer BVT HBavaria L.P. commissioned Perlman Architects to design the Nevada version of the Hofbraubaus to embody the historic and entertaining atmosphere of the original restaurant, located only in Munich, Germany. Special care was taken from the outside faade that features a long arched entry colonnade to the imported clay tiles that have been used to line the roof, reminiscent of tiled rooftops in Europe. The legendary Hofbrauhaus beer will be served, as guests will be seated on a series of long benches indicative of the brew halls in Germany.

The project features a Bavarian style restaurant with authentic food, "biergarten", gift shop, administrative offices and a kitchen. "The "biergarten" is one of the most fascinating parts of the design," said Jeff Balum, project manager for Perlman Architects. "It features a town square that creates an outdoor feeling by incorporating three large trees, each with 25 foot canopies, a large lion head fountain and a stamped concrete floor that imitates the cobble stone streets commonly found in German architecture."

These design elements are all illuminated by a domed ceiling that has a large sky scape showcasing true Munich sites, which have been hand painted. "The building is a marriage of new world technologies bringing to life an old world atmosphere, in a modern city, " said Balum.
